SOCIAL ISSUE Here in Kerala under government we have harithasena to collect wastes from LSGI's. Even though it's not effective in broader sense, it also fails to collect electronic waste from houses. Though in size E- waste like batteries, mercury, lead etc are small in size it impacts a wider poison to environment. We initiate to collect E-waste from our LSGI in order to avoid the hazardous effect of E-wastes
PROPOSED SOLUTION
We have a collective of 160 plus members in our group also a wider connectivity along the educational institutes nearby. By collating with other local clubs and other social organisations and using our member we assign 5 to 10 houses per member to collect E- waste and to escalate to a Bangalore based waste management team
CONCERN Society is unaware of the impact of e-waste as it is of small sizes. Continuously technology is changing and people adapt with newer object where the dumped electronics actually contain toxic substances - therefore they must be handled with care when no longer wanted or needed. When electronics are improperly disposed and end up in landfills, toxic chemicals are released, impacting the earth’s air, soil, water and ultimately, human health. Later, the same orientation will be passed to each houses under each member. Where also, the date of collection of e-waste will be given to each household.
