Muhammed Yaser Rahiman - Selected for The Social Hackathon 4.0

Meet Muhammed Yaser Rahiman, son of E.U Abdul Rahiman and late Laila Rahiman. He is from Kothamangalam of Ernakulam district. He has completed higher secondary education and excitedly looking forward to beginning a new phase; the college days. He was a part of the NSS during his higher secondary education and had been in NCC during high school. His biggest achievement is attending the REPUBLIC DAY CAMP 2018 and winning a silver medal in the BEST CADET competition with camp record in shooting. He is a very empathetic person, but pathetic in controlling his anger. He holds a vision for the society in which everyone should be considered equally, given equal opportunities and where there is no discrimination.


SOCIAL ISSUE

We are concerned about the lack of mental health support faced by children of LGBTQ community.


PROPOSED SOLUTION

We are planning to reach out to them through both communication platforms and then helping them according to the situation they are going through.


CONCERN

We believe that everybody in the world have the right to have a happy and contented life irrespective of their gender.


PROJECT: PROJECT SARANG


DESCRIPTION:

The project focuses on supporting the children of LGBTQIA+ community who are facing mental health issues. We’ll be connecting to the needy through all the networks possible and helping them by connecting with professional therapists. There will be helpline numbers provided. We shall make awareness posts on the same in all social media’s and also in offline platforms. We’ll be running awareness campaigns on pinning out the problem.


AIMS & OBJECTIVES

  • We aim to provide better mental health support to make the lives of non-binary children who are already in the closet a little better. We aim to create an inclusive space where all genders are treated equally We aim to make people aware of the importance of mental health in all genders
