1 volunteer created hygiene and waste-segregation awareness for 63 students at Agasthycode LPS, Anchal, Kollam, led by M. Afsal Mohammed.
Our volunteer M. Afsal Mohammed from Lovely Professional University organised a "Clean Hands, Green Lands" awareness initiative at Agasthycode LPS, Anchal on 14th July 2025 in Kollam aa part of Community Development Project.
Around 1 volunteer conducted an engaging awareness session for 63 students of Agasthycode LPS, focusing on basic hygiene practices and environmental responsibility. The initiative addressed two important topics:
1) Proper Handwashing Techniques: Using hand-drawn charts, Afsal demonstrated the six-step process of correct handwashing to encourage healthy hygiene habits among students.
2) Waste Segregation Awareness: He created colorful visual charts and functional dustbin models to teach students how to separate biodegradable and non-biodegradable waste. Clean sample items were used to help students practice correct segregation through hands-on learning.
Before the session, Afsal interacted with school teachers to understand the challenges faced by students and designed the content accordingly to ensure age-appropriate and effective learning for Classes 1 to 4. The sessions were fun, interactive, and well-received by both students and teachers.
We sincerely appreciate the efforts of M. Afsal Mohammed for leading this meaningful initiative and inspiring healthy, sustainable habits among young children. We look forward to seeing more youth-led impact projects like this!
