On 22 January 2026, our volunteer Jagannath Sahu conducted an Introduction to Climate Volunteering workshop at S. Dumerpali Government School, Bargarh District, Odisha.

✨ 1 volunteer engaged 27 students of Class 6 in a 1.5-hour interactive session focused on volunteering and climate responsibility. The session began with an introduction to volunteering and the importance of climate volunteering, followed by an engaging discussion on environmental issues—especially the harmful effects of plastic usage.

To turn learning into action, students were encouraged to replace plastic bags with eco-friendly alternatives. A hands-on demonstration was conducted where students learned step by step how to make paper bags using old newspapers. The students actively participated, proudly displayed their handmade bags, and made the session lively, practical, and memorable.

The workshop successfully built awareness about sustainable practices and climate responsibility. Students understood the value of volunteering, learned why reducing plastic is important, and gained practical skills they can use at home and in their community. Many were motivated to adopt eco-friendly habits and spread awareness among their friends and families.

A big appreciation to Jagannath Sahu for coordinating and leading this session with dedication and clarity. 💙 His efforts inspired young students to become everyday climate heroes.
