On 21 January 2026, our volunteer Fathimath Salma C A conducted an Introduction to Climate Volunteering session at GMHSS Chamakkala, Thrissur District, Kerala.

✨ 1 volunteer engaged 28 students of Class 7 in a 90-minute interactive session that moved beyond a traditional lecture. The session was driven by continuous dialogue, thoughtful questions, and enthusiastic participation from the students. To translate ideas into action, the students took part in a hands-on paper bag–making activity, making sustainability both fun and practical.

The energy in the room stayed high throughout, with students actively sharing ideas, responding to questions, and enjoying the collaborative learning experience.

The impact was truly inspiring. Students clearly understood that volunteering doesn’t require capes—they can be real-life superheroes by protecting the planet. Many students shared that they would now take the lead at home and among friends, gently correcting environmentally harmful practices. They also pledged to collect plastic waste from their homes and hand it over to Haritha Karma Sena for proper recycling, turning awareness into real action.

A big appreciation to Fathimath Salma C A for leading and coordinating this session with passion, creativity, and purpose. 💙 Her efforts sparked confidence, responsibility, and climate leadership among young changemakers.
