100 volunteers responsibly collected and disposed 200 kg of non-biodegradable waste through a Beach Clean-up Drive at Shankumugham Beach, Thiruvananthapuram, in collaboration with Volunteer For India, Center for Volunteering, and Trivandrum Corporation.

On 12 January 2026, a Beach Clean-up Drive was conducted at Shankumugham Beach, Trivandrum, Kerala, in collaboration with Volunteer For India, Center for Volunteering, and the Trivandrum Corporation.

A total of 100 volunteers came together with a shared commitment to environmental protection and civic responsibility. The volunteers worked collectively along the shoreline to identify, collect, and responsibly dispose of waste, ensuring effective coverage of the beach.

As part of the initiative, around 200 kg of non-biodegradable waste was responsibly collected and disposed of, contributing directly to cleaner coastal spaces, reduced marine pollution, and the protection of local biodiversity.

Beyond the immediate environmental impact, the activity strengthened awareness about responsible waste management and inspired participants to adopt sustainable practices in their daily lives. The drive also reinforced the power of collective action in maintaining clean public spaces and safeguarding natural ecosystems.

We sincerely appreciate all the volunteers and partner organizations for their dedication and support in making this environmental initiative impactful and meaningful.
