120 Volunteers of Kerala Fisheries Department Cleaned Fort Kochi Beach

On April 6, 2025, the shores of Fort Kochi Beach in Ernakulam witnessed an inspiring display of community spirit as we teamed up with the Kerala Fisheries Department for a massive beach cleanup drive, all as part of @gooddeedsday!
It was an incredible sight to behold as approximately 120 dedicated volunteers descended upon the beach, united by a common goal: to protect our precious marine environment. Their hard work and commitment paid off, resulting in the responsible collection and disposal of a staggering 580 kg of non-biodegradable waste. That's over half a ton of trash diverted from our oceans and responsibly managed!
This initiative went far beyond just tidying up the sands. By actively engaging with the local community, we not only significantly enhanced the beauty and hygiene of Fort Kochi Beach but also sparked crucial conversations about marine pollution. The event served as a powerful reminder of the urgent need for responsible waste disposal habits and the devastating impact of plastic and other non-biodegradable materials on our marine ecosystems.
None of this would have been possible without the tireless efforts of our amazing coordinators, Akshay Mallissery and Salman. Their leadership and dedication were instrumental in organizing such a successful event. And of course, a heartfelt thank you goes out to every single volunteer who dedicated their time and energy to make this impactful day a reality. Your commitment to a cleaner, healthier planet is truly commendable!
Together, we're making waves for a more sustainable future. Let's continue to spread awareness and inspire action for our beautiful coastlines!
