2 volunteers created awareness on school love, education and child safety through puppet-led storytelling and drawing for 25 kindergarten students at SN Central School, Kayamkulam, Alappuzha.
Our volunteers Abinaya Binu and Kalindhy P from Lovely Professional University conducted a storytelling session titled “I Love My School, I Stay Safe” at SN Central School, Kayamkulam, on July 3, 2025, as part of their Community Development Project in Alappuzha District.
Around 2 volunteers organised session aimed to create awareness among 25 KG students about their Right to Education and Right to Protection. Through an engaging story of a child who loved going to school, students learned about the joy of learning, the importance of a safe environment, and how to recognize and respond to unsafe situations. The narrative included themes of safe and unsafe touch, identifying trusted adults, and the power of speaking up.
The storytelling was brought to life using puppets, actions, and interactive questions. It was followed by a group drawing activity where the children illustrated their school and the people who help keep them safe.
The activity helped children connect with the value of education and understand basic safety concepts, while also promoting emotional development, self-confidence, and awareness of their rights in a supportive and fun environment.
Thank you, Abinaya Binu and Kalindhy P, for leading this thoughtful and impactful session with creativity and care!
