2 volunteers created child-safety awareness through touch-boundary learning for 24 kindergarten students at SN Central School, Kayamkulam, Alappuzha.
Our volunteers Abinaya Binu and Kalindhy P from Lovely Professional University conducted a child safety awareness session titled “My Body, My Right” at SN Central School, Kayamkulam, on July 2, 2025, as part of their Community Development Project in Alappuzha District.
Around 2 volunteers, organised this session aimed to raise awareness among 24 KG students about body safety and the difference between good touch and bad touch in a sensitive and age-appropriate manner. Through puppet storytelling, role play, and the use of simple language, children were taught that their body belongs to them and they have the right to say “No” to any touch that makes them uncomfortable.
The “swimsuit rule” was introduced to explain private parts gently. Children learned the Three Golden Rules: Say NO, Get Away, and Tell a Safe Adult. The session included a song and a coloring activity where children created their “Safe Circle” — identifying trusted adults in their lives.
The activity helped children understand their Right to Protection and Safety, empowered them to recognize unsafe situations, and reinforced the importance of personal boundaries and bodily autonomy.
Thank you, Abinaya Binu and Kalindhy P, for leading this essential and impactful session with care and compassion!
