2 volunteers created hygiene awareness by teaching 5 handwashing steps and cleanliness habits for 21 students at SN Central School, Kayamkulam, Alappuzha.

Our volunteers Abinaya Binu and Kalindhy P from Lovely Professional University organized a hygiene awareness session titled “Clean Hands, Healthy Me” at SN Central School, Kayamkulam, on June 26, 2025, as part of their Community Development Project in Alappuzha District.

Around 2 volunteers organised the session to promote the Right to Health by teaching 21 students the importance of proper handwashing and personal hygiene. Using colorful posters, rhymes, and hand actions, the volunteers taught the five key steps of handwashing – wet, soap, scrub, rinse, and dry.

Students participated in a fun, hands-on demonstration and practiced handwashing under supervision. The session also included a short talk on daily cleanliness habits like brushing teeth and keeping the body and surroundings clean.

The activity helped children understand that being clean is essential for staying healthy and is a basic right. It reinforced good hygiene habits in a fun and age-appropriate way and promoted the idea that health and cleanliness are everyone’s right and responsibility.

Thank you, Abinaya Binu and Kalindhy P, for leading this thoughtful and engaging initiative!
