2 volunteers engaged 21 students through Action Board Day using play-based prompts to build awareness on child rights, choice and self-expression at Kayamkulam, Alappuzha.
Our volunteers Abinaya Binu and Kalindhy P from Lovely Professional University organized an engaging activity titled “Action Board Day” at SN Central School, Kayamkulam, on July 1, 2025, as part of their Community Development Project in Alappuzha District.
Around 2 volunteers organised the session designed to integrate play-based learning with child rights awareness. A board displayed fun action prompts like Sleep, Run, Walk, Smile, Dance, and each of the 21 students was invited to choose and perform one. This simple yet powerful activity encouraged movement, independent choice, and self-expression.
The initiative highlighted key child rights — the Right to Education (through creative learning), Right to Play, Right to Participation, and Right to Expression — in a joyful and age-appropriate way.
The activity strengthened children’s understanding of their right to make choices, promoted play as essential for holistic development, and fostered an inclusive environment where every child felt seen, heard, and involved.
Thank you, Abinaya Binu and Kalindhy P, for this thoughtful and energetic contribution!
