1000 volunteers responsibly collected and disposed of 2657 kg of non-biodegradable waste in Ernakulam

🌍 In an effort to promote environmental sustainability, we organized our first-ever Trash Hunt 1.0—a unique Beach Cleanup Drive—in collaboration with UNICEF @yuwaahindia and Mission LiFE by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change of India @moefccgoi. This impactful event took place on July 28, 2024, at Fort Kochi Beach, Ernakulam, in celebration of World Nature Conservation Day.
💪 Despite heavy rain, an incredible 1,000 volunteers from over 10 colleges across Kerala came together to take part in this initiative. Their dedication and hard work led to the responsible collection and disposal of 2,657 kg of non-biodegradable waste, making a significant impact on our coastal ecosystem.
🚮 We extend our sincere gratitude to @greenworms_ and @riverrecycle for being our Waste Movement Partners, ensuring the timely removal of all collected waste. Your support was invaluable in making this event a success!
🙏 A huge thank you to @suchitwamission @dsm_ekm and GIZ for providing refreshments to keep our volunteers energized throughout the cleanup.
🤝 Special appreciation to @bhumiorg @bhumi.kochi and @volunteerforindia for partnering with us in coordinating the program. We also thank @urbantrash.in and @cochincollective for their unwavering support in this initiative.
🌱 Trash Hunt 1.0 is just the beginning! Together, we can continue to create lasting change for our environment and inspire more individuals to take action for a cleaner, greener future. Let’s keep making waves for a sustainable tomorrow! 💙♻️
