2 volunteers raised awareness on plastic among 10 shopkeepers in Ernakulam

On February 21, 2023, our dedicated intern, Ajmala from Ideal College of Arts and Science, took a remarkable step towards environmental conservation by organizing an Anti-Plastic Bag Campaign at Kadavanthara, Ernakulam. This initiative aimed to spread awareness about the harmful effects of plastic bags and encourage local businesses to adopt eco-friendly alternatives.

As part of the campaign, Ajmala, along with a group of enthusiastic volunteers, visited over 10 shops in the area. They engaged with shopkeepers, staff, and customers, educating them on the environmental hazards posed by plastic bag usage. To make the message more impactful, the team used informative posters highlighting the side effects of plastic pollution and promoting sustainable alternatives like cloth and paper bags.

The campaign was met with a positive response from shop owners and the public, many of whom expressed their willingness to reduce plastic usage in their daily operations. Through efforts like these, we take small but meaningful steps toward a greener and more sustainable future.

A huge shoutout to Ajmala and the volunteers for their dedication and hard work in making this campaign a success! We hope this initiative inspires more individuals to take action and contribute to environmental preservation.

Let’s say no to plastic bags and yes to a cleaner, greener planet!
