43 volunteers created 43 paper bags to raise awareness about plastic pollution in Kozhikode.

On October 8, 2022, the volunteers of CAPTAINS Kozhikode came together to take a stand against plastic pollution by organizing #MyPaperBag Campaign #09. This initiative was part of the larger #EveryIndianVolunteering movement led by Captains Social Foundation, aiming to encourage sustainable practices and responsible consumption.
The campaign was coordinated by Dilu, with 40+ dedicated volunteers actively participating in the event. Their mission was to promote awareness about the harmful effects of plastic and advocate for the use of eco-friendly alternatives.
As part of the campaign, the volunteers handcrafted paper bags, which were then distributed within the community. These paper bags symbolized a small yet impactful effort to reduce single-use plastic and encourage sustainable habits among local residents. By engaging directly with the community, the volunteers were able to spark meaningful conversations about environmental conservation and the importance of making conscious choices.
The #MyPaperBag Campaign serves as a reminder that simple actions, when taken collectively, can lead to significant environmental change. The participation of volunteers not only contributed to reducing plastic waste but also inspired others to adopt sustainable alternatives in their daily lives.
Through initiatives like these, Captains Social Foundation continues to uphold its commitment to engaging youth in impactful social change, making strides towards a cleaner and greener world. ♻️🌿
