50,000 youth from 710 colleges across Kerala introduced to innovation support by Kerala Government
Young Innovators Program (Introduction Session) by Captains Social Foundation

We successfully organized the Young Innovator Program from January 1 to February 10, 2022, in collaboration with the Kerala Development and Innovation Strategic Council (K-DISC) and the ICT Academy of Kerala. The initiative aimed to introduce Kerala’s youth to the Young Innovators Program by the Government of Kerala, which seeks to foster innovation and entrepreneurship among young minds across the state. This program encourages youth to become change agents who can think creatively, solve problems, and drive social and economic progress through innovation.
As part of the program, we conducted 133 online sessions across all 14 districts of Kerala, reaching out to 710 educational institutions. With the help of 25 dedicated volunteers, we mobilized efforts to ensure that students from every district had the opportunity to learn about the program's structure, its benefits, and the process of applying. The goal was to provide the youth with a basic understanding of the Young Innovators Program, including how to join, the advantages of participating, and how they could apply for the opportunities offered.
Throughout the sessions, the focus was on introducing participants to the vision of the program and creating awareness about its objectives. The youth were educated on the benefits they could gain, such as skill development, access to resources, mentorship opportunities, and the chance to become a part of a vibrant innovation network. The sessions served as an essential orientation for the participants, helping them understand the importance of becoming a part of the initiative and how to take their first steps toward applying.
The program’s primary aim was not only to inform but also to inspire youth to think about innovation and entrepreneurship as a viable path to personal growth and community development. It encouraged the participants to explore how they could make meaningful contributions to solving problems in their communities through creative thinking and innovation. By the end of the program, 50,000 youth had gained the foundational knowledge to understand the opportunities available through the Young Innovators Program and how to become a part of this dynamic initiative.
The program is aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), aiming to empower youth to develop sustainable solutions for social and economic challenges. The initiative is a significant step in preparing the next generation of leaders in Kerala, helping them recognize their potential as changemakers.
With the successful completion of these sessions, the Young Innovator Program has paved the way for youth to actively engage in innovation and contribute positively to their communities. The awareness created through this initiative will guide them as they take the next steps to apply for the program and, ultimately, work towards building a brighter, more innovative future for Kerala
