50 volunteers of SAJ Foundation were introduced to the concept of reimagining volunteerism.
The Volunteers Workshop 3.0 by Captains Social Foundation

The third edition of The Volunteer Workshop by Captains Social Foundation in collaboration with Peace First, took place on April 11, 2021, at MOUP School, Munda, Malappuram. This workshop was specifically designed for the volunteers of SAJ Foundation, bringing together 50 dedicated individuals who were eager to enhance their capacity to create meaningful change within their communities.
The primary objective of the session was to introduce the volunteers to the concept of transformative volunteerism. It aimed to challenge traditional volunteer activities by focusing on how individuals can address social issues in a more innovative and impactful way. Volunteers were encouraged to think critically and creatively about the role they can play in driving positive change in their communities.
The workshop provided practical insights on designing and implementing changemaking projects. Volunteers were equipped with essential tools and strategies to identify local community needs and come up with effective solutions that address those challenges. This included a series of engaging discussions, interactive activities, and collaborative exercises where the participants learned how to plan, execute, and sustain their projects. They also gained insights into project management techniques, including resource mobilization, stakeholder engagement, and creating measurable outcomes.
In addition to the technical skills, the session emphasized the importance of community leadership. Volunteers were inspired to recognize their ability to lead initiatives that promote peace, inclusivity, and social well-being. They were encouraged to take ownership of their projects and be proactive in driving change. The workshop also provided valuable networking opportunities, allowing the volunteers to connect with like-minded individuals and organizations, thus building a supportive community of changemakers.
One of the key takeaways from the workshop was the idea that every volunteer has the potential to spark lasting social transformation. By the end of the session, the 50 volunteers were not only well-prepared to design and execute changemaking projects but were also motivated to act as agents of change in their communities. They left the workshop with a renewed sense of purpose, confidence, and the skills necessary to create meaningful social impact.
This session was a crucial step in empowering the volunteers to take charge of social issues in their communities, reinforcing the belief that volunteering is not just about giving time but about actively shaping a better future through innovation, leadership, and collective action. The volunteers were now equipped to lead impactful projects that would contribute to the overall well-being and development of their localities, fostering peace and social harmony.
