50 volunteers responsibly collected and disposed of 500 kg of non-biodegradable waste in Ernakulam

On February 12, 2023, we took a significant step towards environmental conservation by organizing a Beach Clean-Up Drive at Fort Kochi Beach, Ernakulam. This initiative was carried out in collaboration with Bhumi, Volunteer for India, and CHZCS, bringing together a passionate group of volunteers to make a tangible impact on our coastal ecosystem.

With over 50 volunteers from 4+ organizations, the clean-up drive saw an incredible collective effort. Armed with gloves, garbage bags, and a shared commitment to sustainability, volunteers worked diligently to collect and segregate waste littering the beach. The enthusiasm and teamwork on display were truly inspiring, reinforcing the power of community action in addressing environmental challenges.

This initiative was also a pre-event for Good Deeds Day 2023, an international movement that encourages people to engage in acts of kindness and community service. By contributing to a cleaner and healthier shoreline, our volunteers embodied the essence of this global movement, proving that small, dedicated actions can lead to a significant positive impact.

Through this clean-up drive, we not only removed waste but also raised awareness about the importance of keeping our beaches free from pollution. Fort Kochi Beach is a treasured spot for locals and tourists alike, and preserving its beauty requires ongoing commitment and responsibility.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all the volunteers and partner organizations who participated in this meaningful endeavor. Your efforts play a crucial role in fostering a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable future.

Let’s continue to take action and make a difference—one clean-up at a time!
