500 volunteers responsibly collected and disposed of 1000 kg of non-biodegradable waste in Trivandrum

On September 21, 2024, the Ministry of Tourism Kochi Office, in partnership with Trivandrum Municipal Corporation and Volunteer For India (VFI), successfully organized a large-scale beach cleanup across Kovalam, Veli, and Vettucadu beaches. This event was held in celebration of International Coastal Cleanup Day, emphasizing the importance of protecting our coastal ecosystems.

The event was inaugurated by Smt. Arya Rajendran, Mayor of Thiruvananthapuram, and brought together over 500 participants, including local organizations, volunteers, and students. Their collective efforts helped remove significant amounts of waste, raising awareness about plastic pollution and environmental conservation.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all the participants and supporting organizations for their dedication and hard work. Preserving our coastlines is a shared responsibility, and this initiative was a significant step towards ensuring cleaner and healthier beaches for future generations.

Looking forward to more collaborative efforts in safeguarding our environment and promoting sustainability! πŸŒŠπŸŒΏπŸ’š
