53 volunteers created 53 paper bags to raise awareness about plastic pollution in Ernakulam

On August 30, 2022, the Department of Sociology at MTM College of Arts, Science & Commerce, Veliyancode, proudly organized the #MyPaperBag Campaign in support of #EveryIndianVolunteering by Captains Social Foundation. This initiative aimed to promote sustainable alternatives to plastic by engaging youth in hands-on environmental action.
The campaign was coordinated by our dedicated volunteer, Nadiya, and saw the enthusiastic participation of 50+ volunteers. Together, they crafted numerous paper bags, spreading awareness about the dangers of plastic pollution and the importance of eco-friendly choices. The initiative not only highlighted the urgency of reducing plastic waste but also empowered students to be active contributors to environmental sustainability.
#MyPaperBag Campaign is an initiative by Captains Social Foundation, striving to collaborate with 100+ institutions across India with a mission to create 1 lakh paper bags. Through this movement, young volunteers are encouraged to reach out to schools and colleges, engaging students in practical sustainability efforts.
The campaign at MTM College reinforced the power of community-driven action in addressing environmental concerns. By actively participating, students not only contributed to reducing plastic waste but also fostered a mindset of responsibility and sustainability.
Together, let’s make a difference—one paper bag at a time! ♻️🌍
