53 volunteers created 53 paper bags to raise awareness about plastic pollution in Malappuram.

On August 31, 2022, the volunteers of CAPTAINS Malappuram organized the #MyPaperBag Campaign in collaboration with the National Service Scheme (NSS) and Women Development Cell of MIC Arts & Science College, Athanikkal. This initiative was held in support of #EveryIndianVolunteering by Captains Social Foundation, promoting eco-friendly alternatives to plastic.

The campaign was coordinated by our dedicated volunteer, Shibla, and saw the enthusiastic participation of 50+ volunteers. The volunteers engaged in crafting numerous paper bags, which were later distributed to raise awareness about the harmful effects of plastic pollution. Through this activity, students and community members were encouraged to adopt sustainable practices in their daily lives.

#MyPaperBag Campaign is an initiative by Captains Social Foundation, aiming to collaborate with 100+ institutions across India with the goal of creating 1 lakh paper bags. The movement empowers youth volunteers to reach out to schools and colleges, actively engaging students in hands-on sustainability efforts.

The campaign at MIC Arts & Science College reinforced the impact of collective action in fostering environmental responsibility. By participating, students not only contributed to reducing plastic waste but also became advocates for a greener future.

Together, let’s create a more sustainable world—one paper bag at a time! ♻️🌍
