6 volunteers crafted a day to spread smiles among 40 senior citizens in Kollam

On October 28, 2023, our incredible volunteers came together to bring happiness to the lives of the elderly at St. Mary's Mommy Daddy Care, East Kallada, Kollam. 🏡💖

🙌 Six compassionate hearts united to spread smiles among 40 wonderful residents of the old age home. This event was a beautiful reminder of the power of community, kindness, and the joy that comes from selfless giving. 🤗

The aim of this heartwarming initiative was to bring happiness and a sense of inclusion to the elderly and differently-abled individuals. The day started with an introductory session, but it quickly transformed into a symphony of joy as many of the residents sang their hearts out during our interaction time. 🎶

🎲 We engaged the residents with various fun games, creating a lively and entertaining atmosphere. Some of the highlights included:

• Name the Song – We played tunes from their younger days, letting them reminisce and sing along.
• Pass the Ball – A fun-filled game that showcased their playful spirit and energy.
• Memory Game – An engaging challenge to keep their spirits high and minds active.

The room was filled with laughter, music, and joy as they danced, played, and even participated in a delightful karaoke session. Simple warm-up dance steps brought an extra spark of happiness to their day. 💃🕺🎤

🍲 After all the fun and excitement, we shared a delicious lunch with the residents, strengthening our bonds over a hearty meal. Alongside this, we also handed over much-needed donations to the administrators to support their ongoing care efforts. 🍽️

🎨 The residents had the chance to showcase their incredible talents, stepping away from their daily routines to sing, dance, and participate in sit-down games. To help break the monotony and provide continued entertainment, we donated books and a Snake and Ladder game board. Additionally, the financial assistance provided will have a meaningful impact on their well-being. 📚🎯💰
