10 volunteers utilised their skills to beautify the streets of Ernakulam

We are thrilled to announce our collaboration with Cochin Corporation, Suchitwa Mission, and Heal Kochi for a transformative Community Awareness Campaign on Waste Management in Ravipuram, Ernakulam. This initiative, held in May 2023 as part of Good Deeds Day 2023, aimed to foster sustainable waste management practices within the community.

With a dedicated team of 51 volunteers, we embarked on a mission to establish a systematic waste management process in Ravipuram. Our volunteers conducted household surveys, generated QR codes for waste management, and geotagged 741 households to digitally streamline the waste collection process. This direct interaction with residents provided us with invaluable insights into their waste disposal habits, challenges, and concerns, paving the way for more efficient waste management solutions.

To amplify our message, we organized a Community Awareness Cycle Rally featuring 10 passionate volunteers. This rally served as a dynamic platform to spread awareness about responsible waste disposal, recycling, and sustainability. By engaging the public in a visually compelling and interactive manner, we encouraged greater community participation and collective responsibility towards a cleaner environment.

A significant milestone of our campaign was the transformation of the Material Collection Facility (MCF). With the support of the authorities, a dedicated container was allocated for sorting plastic waste from households. Our team of 10 volunteers took the initiative to clean, beautify, and enhance the facility. To reinforce our awareness efforts, they created thought-provoking artwork with impactful messages and visuals, inspiring the community to embrace better waste management practices.
