100 volunteers responsibly collected and disposed of 1000 kg of non-biodegradable waste in Thrissur

On March 8, 2023, Captains Social Foundation, in collaboration with Decathlon and Green Worms, organized a remarkable Beach Cleanup Drive at Thrissur’s Chavakkad Beach. This initiative was a part of the International Women’s Day celebrations, emphasizing the power of collective action towards environmental conservation.
With over 100 enthusiastic volunteers, including members of Haritha Karma Sena, students from Little Flower College, Sreekrishna College, and ICA College, the cleanup drive was a resounding success. These dedicated individuals worked tirelessly to clear the beach premises of waste, promoting a cleaner and healthier coastal ecosystem.
The event aimed not only to rid the beach of litter but also to raise awareness about responsible waste disposal and environmental sustainability. By bringing together diverse groups, the initiative underscored the importance of community-driven efforts in preserving our natural spaces.
International Women’s Day serves as a powerful reminder of the strength and impact of women-led initiatives. The participation of various organizations and students showcased the ability to drive meaningful change when people unite for a common cause.
