100 volunteers responsibly collected and disposed of 1000 kg of non-biodegradable waste in Trivandrum

On April 22, 2023, We @the.social.captains, in collaboration with Volunteer For India, Kerala Tourism Club, WWF, and Trivandrum Ultimate, took a stand for the environment by organizing a Beach Clean-Up Drive at Shangumugham Beach, Thiruvananthapuram. This impactful initiative was a part of @gooddeedsday, a global movement that encourages acts of kindness and social responsibility.

The event saw an overwhelming response, with over 100 enthusiastic volunteers coming together to restore the beauty of one of Kerala’s most beloved beaches. Armed with gloves, collection bags, and a shared mission, the volunteers tirelessly worked to clear the shoreline of plastic waste and other litter. By the end of the day, more than 15 sacks of plastic waste had been removed, significantly contributing to the conservation of marine ecosystems and a cleaner coastal environment.

This initiative not only helped in waste removal but also raised awareness about the urgent need for sustainable practices and responsible waste disposal. It was heartening to witness the community unite for a cause that benefits both nature and future generations.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all the volunteers, partner organizations, and supporters who made this event a success. The journey towards a cleaner planet is a continuous one, and every small effort counts. Let’s continue to make a difference, one good deed at a time!

Stay tuned for more such initiatives and join us in our mission to create a sustainable future. Together, we can bring about lasting change!
