2 volunteers raised awareness on menstrual cup among 78 college students in Thrissur

On February 10, 2023, our dedicated volunteers, Rajath and Shafna, in collaboration with KKTM Govt. College Pullut, organized an impactful awareness session titled Power Up Periods at Thrissur. This initiative aimed to educate young minds about sustainable menstrual hygiene practices, specifically the benefits and usage of menstrual cups.

The interactive session witnessed an enthusiastic participation of over 78 students, who actively engaged in discussions, clearing doubts, and learning about the eco-friendly alternative to traditional menstrual products. The session covered crucial aspects such as health benefits, cost-effectiveness, environmental impact, and the proper use of menstrual cups.

To encourage creative expression and reinforce learning, the participants were given an exciting task—to create posters highlighting the advantages of menstrual cups and to display them on campus. This not only helped in spreading awareness beyond the session but also enabled students to take ownership of the cause.

The overwhelming response and participation from the students reaffirmed the importance of such initiatives. It was heartwarming to see young individuals taking steps towards breaking taboos, embracing sustainable practices, and empowering themselves with knowledge.
