5 volunteers raised awareness on AIDS among 34 school students in Ernakulam

On January 4, 2023, our dedicated interns from St. Aloysius Autonomous College, Mangalore, conducted an insightful awareness session on Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs) at Govt. VHSS Njarakal, Ernakulam. This initiative aimed to educate and inform young students about crucial health issues, breaking stigma and fostering awareness.

A team of 5+ passionate volunteers led the session, engaging with a group of 34+ enthusiastic 9th-grade students. The session covered key topics such as the meaning of STDs, the causes and modes of transmission, and effective preventive measures. Special emphasis was placed on HIV, discussing its spread, prevention strategies, and available treatment options.

The interactive session encouraged open discussions, allowing students to ask questions and clarify doubts in a safe and informative environment. By promoting awareness at an early age, the initiative sought to empower students with knowledge that will help them make informed and responsible health decisions in the future.
