5 volunteers from St. Aloysius Autonomous College conducted AIDS Awareness Session for 34 students in Ernakulam

On January 4, 2023, our dedicated interns from St. Aloysius Autonomous College, Mangalore, took a significant step toward promoting health awareness by organizing an informative session on Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs) at Govt. VHSS Njarakal, Ernakulam.

With the support of 5+ volunteers, the session was successfully coordinated for 34+ enthusiastic 9th-grade students, equipping them with essential knowledge about STDs, their causes, and prevention.

Key Highlights of the Session:

📌 Understanding STDs – Students were introduced to the meaning of HIV and other STDs, breaking myths and misconceptions surrounding them.
📌 Modes of Transmission – The interns explained how STDs, including HIV, spread, emphasizing the importance of safe practices.
📌 Prevention & Treatment – The session highlighted preventive measures such as safe hygiene, awareness, and early diagnosis, along with available treatments.

This initiative was not just about imparting information but also about encouraging open conversations and reducing the stigma surrounding STDs. By creating a safe space for learning and discussion, the volunteers empowered students to take charge of their health and well-being.
