51 volunteers raised awareness on waste management practices and geotagged 741 residence in Ernakulam

We are thrilled to share our collaboration with Cochin Corporation, Suchitwa Mission, and Heal Kochi for a transformative Community Awareness Campaign on Waste Management in Ravipuram, Ernakulam, in May 2023. This initiative was a key part of Good Deeds Day 2023, reinforcing our commitment to building a cleaner and greener community.

Our 51 dedicated volunteers embarked on a mission to establish an efficient waste management system in Ravipuram. Through meticulous efforts, they conducted surveys, generated QR codes for waste tracking, and geotagged 741 households. This innovative approach has streamlined the digital monitoring of waste collection, ensuring a more organized and accountable system. More importantly, this campaign allowed us to directly engage with residents, address their concerns, and educate them on the importance of proper waste disposal.

To further amplify our cause, we organized a Community Awareness Cycle Rally, where 10 passionate volunteers took to the streets to promote responsible waste management. This rally served as a powerful platform to spread awareness, encouraging the active participation of the local community. By engaging a larger audience, we fostered a sense of unity and shared responsibility towards keeping our surroundings clean.

A dedicated container was provided by the authorities as the Material Collection Facility (MCF), where household plastic waste is sorted. Our 10 volunteers took the initiative to clean and beautify the facility, creating an environment that reflects the significance of proper waste management. They also designed and displayed awareness-related artwork, featuring impactful images and quotes to visually communicate the message of sustainability.
