90 volunteers responsibly collected and disposed of 1000 kg of non-biodegradable waste in Kozhikode

At The Social Captains, we believe in taking meaningful steps toward environmental sustainability. In collaboration with the National Service Scheme (NSS) of EMEA College of Arts and Science, Kondotty, we organized a Beach Clean-Up Drive on April 27, 2023, at Chaliyam Beach, Kozhikode, as part of Good Deeds Day.
The event witnessed an overwhelming participation of 90+ dedicated volunteers, who joined hands to make a significant impact. Together, we removed over 1000 kg of non-biodegradable waste, restoring the beauty of the beach and making it a cleaner, safer space for the community and marine life.
Beyond the clean-up, we aimed to create awareness and equip our volunteers with essential skills. The Coastal Police conducted an interactive session, enlightening participants about marine conservation, safety measures, and the importance of protecting coastal ecosystems. Additionally, the Emergency Rescue Team hosted a First Aid Training Session, complemented by a Mock Drill, ensuring that our volunteers were well-prepared for emergency situations.
This initiative would not have been possible without the unwavering spirit and enthusiasm of our volunteers and partners. Each step we take towards a cleaner environment contributes to a larger movement of responsible citizenship and sustainability.
A heartfelt thank you to all who joined us in this mission. Let’s continue to make a difference—one good deed at a time!
