92 volunteers created 92 paper bags to raise awareness about plastic pollution in Thrissur.

On September 2, 2022, the volunteers of CAPTAINS Thrissur organized the #MyPaperBag Campaign in collaboration with the Student Police Cadets of Seethi Sahib Memorial VHSS, Edakkazhiyur. This campaign was conducted in support of #EveryIndianVolunteering by Captains Social Foundation, focusing on promoting eco-friendly alternatives to plastic.

The campaign was coordinated by our dedicated volunteer, Fasna, and witnessed the active participation of 80+ volunteers. Volunteers came together to create numerous paper bags, which were later distributed to raise awareness about the environmental hazards of plastic pollution. The initiative aimed to inspire students and community members to adopt sustainable practices and make a positive environmental impact.

#MyPaperBag Campaign is a flagship initiative by Captains Social Foundation, aiming to collaborate with 100+ institutions across India to create 1 lakh paper bags. This movement empowers youth volunteers to engage schools and colleges in hands-on sustainability efforts, fostering a culture of environmental responsibility.

The campaign at Seethi Sahib Memorial VHSS showcased the power of youth-driven initiatives in addressing critical environmental concerns. By participating, students not only contributed to reducing plastic waste but also became advocates for a cleaner, greener future.

Together, let’s create a more sustainable world—one paper bag at a time! ♻️🌍
